Hog Lot Road is a well-maintained logging road that passes through Crown Land and provides access to multiple lakes and rivers, as well as an entrance into other trails in the area. Entering from Highway 14, one can easily pick a route that will connect over to Highway 12 to the East or up to New Russell Road to the North.

The main road surface is a dirt and gravel mix with a few small puddles and a few rougher sections, all of which are easily navigated. In the dry months, the road is very dusty.
