Trail Overview

Tadpole Lake FSR branches off Bear Lake Main FSR and offers a straightforward drive suitable for most vehicles. The trail is primarily two lanes wide, with ample space to pull over in most sections. Expect to encounter a fair number of potholes and water runoff areas, so proceed with caution. The trail climbs steadily, but the incline is gradual, with forest flanking both sides for most of the journey. At the trail's end, you'll arrive at Tadpole Lake--a modest and quiet spot, but still a destination worth the trek. While it's not an official recreation site, there are a couple of informal camping spots by the lake. Be aware that cell reception is limited in the area, so carrying a satellite communication device is recommended for safety.
