Trail Overview

The journey from the west side of Harrison Hot Springs Lake to Sloquet Hot Springs is an unforgettable off-road adventure through some of British Columbia's most stunning wilderness. This trail offers a mix of rugged terrain, towering forests, scenic vistas, and rewarding natural hot springs at the end. Starting near Harrison Hot Springs, the trail follows West Harrison Forest Service Road (FSR), hugging the lake's western shoreline. Early on, the road presents a relatively smooth ride with panoramic views of the shimmering lake, surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks. As you progress around the 50km mark, the trail becomes more challenging, with stretches of loose gravel, rocky sections, and occasional washouts that demand careful navigation. Midway, the trail dives deeper into dense cedar and fir forests, where you'll encounter picturesque streams and cascading waterfalls--perfect spots for a quick break, tailgate lunch, fires, and a photo op. Wildlife sightings are common, so watch for deer, eagles, and even the occasional black bear. As you approach Sloquet Hot Springs, the trail narrows, and the terrain becomes steeper and more technical, rewarding you with breathtaking views of the valley below. The final descent leads to the Rec campsite and hot springs area, a serene oasis in the forest. The naturally heated pools of Sloquet Hot Springs are a perfect way to unwind after the day's drive, offering warm, therapeutic waters beside the rushing sound of Sloquet Creek.

Expect steep climbs, potential washouts, and running water crossings. A vehicle with high ground clearance is essential to navigate unpredictable washout areas safely.
