Salmon Beach Trail is a graded gravel road that loops gracefully next to the ocean coast. The road is lined with lush, dense bushes that add a vibrant green backdrop to the route. Travelers will cross several charming bridges spanning small inlets and streams feeding the lake, each providing stunning views perfect for photos or short breaks. Along the way, the trail passes multiple beaches, including Mussel Beach Campground and the popular Salmon Beach, both provide ideal spots to stop for fishing, picnicking, or relaxing by the water.

Difficulty

While the surface is generally smooth, expect some washboard sections that can create a bumpy ride if traveling at higher speeds. Around Mile 5, the trail narrows significantly, requiring careful navigation when encountering oncoming vehicles. This trail is suitable for all vehicles with moderate clearance, and is a gentle loop perfect for casual drivers, families, and anglers. Its combination of lakeside views, easy crossings, and natural beauty makes it an excellent day trip or scenic detour.
