Trail Overview
Restless South Main is a ridge connector trail which is a remote, single-vehicle-width trail that connects the coastal areas of Gooding Cove and Side Bay. The route features a challenging climb of approximately 1,800 feet, reaching an apex just over 900 feet, followed by a steep and rapid descent on the Side Bay side. This trail offers beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys, with vibrant wildflowers lining much of the path, enhancing the scenic experience. There are a few very steep sections where good tires and solid traction are highly recommended to ensure safe passage. Fallen branches partially block some spots but are easily bypassed with caution. Due to its remote location and minimal traffic, planning ahead is essential. Bring necessary supplies and be prepared for limited cell service.
