Trail Overview

A short but fun and challenging trail that climbs to 1,400 m (4,593 feet), ending at a lookout with awesome views of Okanagan Lake. On clear days, you can spot Wood Lake to the north, and to the south, Chute Lake and the valleys of the Okanagan mountains stretch into the distance. The few scratches on your rig will be worth it. There's a small radio tower around the lookout as well. The trail starts as a mostly gravel path but quickly turns into a steep cobble field with chunky rocks ranging from 38-50 cm (15-20 inches) tall - so high clearance is a must, and airing down is a good idea. It narrows through dense brush, so expect some pinstripes. After that, the terrain mixes it up with dirt, gravel, and a few large, mostly flat - but steep - rock slabs that are a blast to crawl over if you pick a solid line. Most of the trail is one vehicle width, but there's room for two vehicles to pass or turn around near these slabs, as well as at the trail's end. Cell reception is spotty, so go prepared.
