Trail Overview

Why get back on pavement when you can take dirt! This short and sweet trail provides a quick and easy connection between Loon Lake and Edward's Lake. This easy two-track trail may have one large mud hole to navigate. It could also make this cutover trail impassable early or late in the season. Enjoy the scenery of the pretty trees. While narrow, there are places to pull out for oncoming traffic. Be aware of free-ranging cattle in the area. The trail could be impassable in the snow. Loon Lake, on one end of this trail, is a picturesque lake known for its serene setting and opportunities for boating and fishing. There is also a larger paid campground with pit toilets. Each campsite has fire rings and picnic tables. A few of the spots are right on the lake. Edward's Lake, on the other end of this trail, is a smaller lake with its own charm. This lake provides opportunities for fishing, swimming, and other water-based activities. Cell service in the Lake Koocanusa area can be intermittent.
