Trail Overview
Winding through the heart of the remote Nemaiah Valley, this scenic back road provides direct access to the stunning shores of Chilko Lake via Nu Chugh Beniz Campground. Though officially part of the provincial park system, the road has a wild, backcountry character. This route offers more than just a drive -- it's a wildlife viewing experience. Along the way, you may encounter wild horses, deer, numerous bird species, and occasionally even black bears. The terrain is gentle, though the road is rugged in spots. At the road's end, you'll arrive at the lakeside campground, offering several waterfront sites perfect for an overnight stay. Self-registration is available onsite--be sure to bring cash ($18 per night).
