Trail Overview
The trail is pretty well maintained. There is some washboarding on the switchbacks and some minor potholes here and there. Watch for falling rocks for the first 2-3 kilometres as the trail is cut into the hillside, exposing loose rocks. The road is plowed in the winter to allow constant access to the cell tower at the lookout, so it's perfect for some winter wheeling. While the snows melting, there are some larger ruts in the road due to the mud, so good tires are recommended. The lookout offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains, Salmon Arm, and Shuswap Lake. Perfect place to watch the sunset or have lunch while taking in the views.

Difficulty
Long steep grades at the beginning, with shorter steep grades further up the trail. The trail is typically one vehicle wide, but plenty of areas to pass. Quite a few areas with ruts in early spring and some washboarding on the switchbacks. As the snow melts trail is very muddy, which makes the trail quite slippery.
