Trail Overview
Hell Creek Road (FS 311) branches off from Schubarth Road and forms a portion of the Schubarth "Loop." On what is primarily an easy dirt road, you'll pass by and between giant boulders and rock formations. If running the Schubarth Loop in a clockwise direction, to run the more interesting portion of this trail, stay left at the junction with Hell Creek Spur Road (FS 311A), roughly 2.4 miles after leaving Schubarth Road. From this point, you get up close to the rocks with a few sections potentially creating a squeeze for wider full-size vehicles. The last 700 yards or so of the trail drop down into a lush creek valley that tends to be overgrown. Please stay on the trail and be mindful that the actual trail ends at the signpost before the hill climb. This trail is open seasonally from April 1 to November 30.
