Trail Overview

Jackson Creek South, and to some extent Watson Park are smooth, very easy wide roads that are worth exploring for the scenery and access to dispersed camping, but they also serve as access points for the northern portion of the Rampart Range trails. These two trails are typically done together. Watson Park, on the north side is either climbing or descending, depending on your direction, for the entire length. On average, top to bottom is about an 8% grade, but some short sections approach 20%. These steep sections are also rutted, and can be a bit off-camber. Jackson Creek is generally at the bottom of a gulch. It is flat, smooth and only slightly rutted at the south end. Again, this is a road that most sedans can navigate.

Difficulty

Wide, smooth roads with level grades, except on Watson Park, which has an average 8% grade reaching up to about 20% with some ruts. It's still easily accessible by most vehicles.
