Trail Overview

This is a fun dirt bike trail through BLM land near the Hawk Hills. Although less than a mile long, it has some fun rocky sections that make it more interesting for the average rider. The trail starts off in easy desert flats, but is primitive through the creosote bushes. At times, it is wide open like a road with a decent amount of tracks to follow, but other times it is narrower and fainter, going between a few spiky low branches at times. It rides past big saguaros cactus, on a mix of hard-packed dirt and gravel, and segments with more frequent loose rock. Watch out for sudden small ravine crossings and washes. It's easy to miss the trail at times and get off track. It goes around a couple of small bluffs, lined with ocotillos, and drops into a small wash with more loose rock. The scenic part of the trail is when it goes right up next to some tall rock walls and bluffs, but there was a bit of rockfall in one spot, making it a bit tighter to get past as you get pushed up against the trees. The wash gets really rocky later on with a few bigger boulders and loose football-sized rocks to ride over. They aren't major rock ledges, but it definitely makes it more interesting than the many easy sand washes in this terrain. The trail dead ends after a mile, so you'll have to ride it as an out-and-back.
