Trail Overview
Enter the forest on 2N28Y from the residential neighborhood. The road begins as a street-legal-only vehicle dirt road, but will convert to a green-sticker OHV road where it crosses trail 3W13. The roadbed is hard dirt when dry, but it will become slippery with the clay when wet. You will first descend through manzanita bushes and sycamores to open views of the Mojave Desert and mountains as the road climbs to follow the spine of the ridge. You will travel in narrow plant corridors and will experience some off-camber road surfaces that will have rain ruts on the downhill side of the road. The road is easier when traveling southeast and has a more difficult climb when traveling northwest.
