Trail Overview

Diamond Mountain Road, also known as FS 10048, is a point-to-point route that winds along the east side of Ashley National Forest, stretching in an east-west direction. It is rated 1/10 given normal circumstances, but road conditions after precipitation can increase this rating. It is 2 lanes wide for its entirety. It's fairly well-traveled, with the first stretch paved for access to a gravel quarry and regular traffic moving in both directions. The trail was mapped from the pavement end on the west to the eastern edge of the Ashley National Forest, where it becomes a county road and passes through private property. Road conditions and associated photos reflect a post-precipitation status. Plenty of wildlife was spotted along the trail.
