Trail Overview

This trail is relatively easy in a stock truck. It is a steep incline of 2.5 miles. Closer to the top the trail has a couple of tight technical turns. Once you reach the top of the mountain it is a sweet easy trail. This route will take you to an old cowboy camp earliest dates are 1972. If your looking for a great place to camp this area is perfect for that. Motorcycles, SxS, trucks, and even some trailers have made it up there but I will say it is called tow strap for a reason. The creek crossing to get to the trailhead can be flowing pretty hard if it has rained or snow melts. It is a very steep climb to the top so be prepared to put it in low.

Difficulty

there is a water crossing if it has rained or there is a lot of snow melt that i would not try to cross. many people have tried and do not come out. that being said check the wether before you go. other then that crossing its pretty smooth sailing from there. it is a steep climb to the top of the mountain but it is not that complicated of a trail just a great place to get out and explore.

Access Description

Taking the old state RTE 188 to Greenback Valley Road will take you straight to the creek. After the creek, keep traveling west. You will be led to a small neighborhood, go through it and you will come to a graded dirt road! The dirt road is called Thorn's Corner. You will travel 3/4s for a mile and the road will turn left and keep cruising. You will come up to some parking for RV trailers and just people going out for the day with their SxS. After that, you can just keep cruising straight up there!
