Trail Overview

This is a lovely little hidden gem of a trail just outside West Yellowstone in the mountains. Beaver Creek runs right along a good portion of the beginning of this trail, and there are lots of designated dispersed campsites, some with water access to the creek. The campsites will have a small signpost with a camping tent symbol on them. Most of the trail is wide and well-maintained dirt and gravel. It gets narrower and more rutted, with potholes closer to the end. A few narrow curves and full-size vehicles must pull over to pass. This trail has beautiful mountain views on the way up and on the way back down. It is an out and back, ending at a large parking area for three hiking trailheads. There is a pit toilet, more dispersed camping, and trailer parking for horses and stock. A fun side excursion is the Beaver Creek Cabin. The gate is closed, but there is room for two vehicles to park there and walk out to see the historic cabin. There is no cellular service out here. Plan accordingly.
