Trail Overview

FS 2630 begins at its intersection with County Highway W, and navigates east to its intersection with FS 2107. This is a moderately maintained gravel forest road, which serves as a great, quick access point from the highway to access some of the more remote trails within this region of the Nicolet National Forest. This trail has a gravel base, which is moderately maintained. The trail is flat and wide, as well as having exceptional sightlines across its entire length. The scenery around the trail consists primarily of young trees with dense undergrowth. This undergrowth can limit sight lines off the trail. This trail is also open to ATV/ SxS traffic. Cell service in this area is acceptable for the most part; however, downloaded maps are never a bad idea since the towers in this area can become crowded from summer tourists, leading to slow service. Most forest roads in this area have some amount of snowmobile trail traffic on them in the winter months. It is best to avoid them when there is snow on the ground.

Difficulty

This trail can be easily navigated by riders of any experience level. Like most trails in this area, the trails are maintained but not on a regular basis. After heavy rain, washouts and soft spots in the trail can be expected. Additionally, there is always the chance of debris washing onto the trail from the surrounding hills or falling onto the trail from the surrounding trees. The trail has okay to good sight lines throughout, and the trail width changes several times in several areas where it would be hard for vehicles to pass each other at speed.
