Trail Overview

Tyee Road is a moderate dirt and gravel route in Naneum Ridge State Forest, linking Cooke Canyon to Coleman Canyon as part of Washington DNR's Green Dot Road System. It's primarily used by high-clearance 4x4s, ATVs, and dirt bikes, offering a practical connector for off-road travel in the Ellensburg backcountry. Expect rough surfaces with water bars and potential mud during spring runoff or after rain. While not technically difficult, the road can become slippery or rutted in wet conditions, making traction a concern. It sees regular ORV and dual-sport use, with occasional foot and bike traffic. Seasonal closures and snow are common, so check with Washington DNR before heading out.
