Trail Overview

This is one of the easier trails to run in what has become known as the Tar Hollow Trails of Vinton & Hocking County. This trail is not maintained and is rutted with a few mud holes. It is a good connector to take if you wish to minimize the amount of main road/pavement when running other trails in the area. This is one of a few trails in the area that a stock 4WD can take if careful.

A minimum of 33-inch tires, a 2-inch lift, and a winch is recommended, but a stock 4WD can run this trail with careful wheel placement. It is a mainly rutted dirt road with a few mud holes. Depending on the season, some mud holes can be 12+ inches deep.

First hole from 327 was extremely off camber but with enough clearance anyone can make it with a little speed

Not too difficult, a couple good mud holes with some steep drop ins, particularly right at the start. My Raptor ate it up. Narrow at points. My Ranger is 79 inches wide and there were points where some brush was touching on both sides. Theres an awesome clearing with some great views near the midway section up at the top of the hills. Would not recommend for stock SUVs but most trucks with 4x4 should be totally fine.

Probably not the wisest decision to have this be my first off road experience, but made it through unscathed. Solo trip with my son. Some deep(ish) mud towards the end with an off camber spot. Scraped a little on the way out. Stock Bronco Sasquatch.

the trail was not as easy as I expected. there were plenty of mud holes even though it hasn't rain a few days. most of the mud holes have a hard bottom. nothing was deeper than 18", I imagine after a rain those would be much deeper. the mud hole near the power lines is pretty rutted. not too much flexing just a few minor spots. on 32" AT tires I'd rate this a 4.5 probably a bit harder after a rain.
