Trail Overview
Forest Road 9013S leads you down a rugged trail marked by numerous fallen pine trees, many of which block the original path. There are obstacles, 12 inches or less, and fallen trees that will require you to climb over. In some areas, alternate routes have naturally formed around larger trees, guiding you back to the main trail. The trail passes through a burn scar and areas heavily impacted by bark beetles, which have affected many of the pine trees. This damage has made the forest more prone to fallen trees, so use caution while hiking and when setting up camp. At the end of the trail, you'll find a peaceful campsite. Stay alert for potential hazards, including unstable trees that may fall, especially during high winds or storms. A high clearance vehicle may be needed to cross fallen pine tree logs. Keep your eyes open for the wildlife that runs along the trail.
