Trail Overview
This trail features a soft sand surface that is wet on the east side in the open area, creating unusual traction conditions. The area is relatively flat with some whoops scattered throughout, creating a bouncing ride. The trail is lined with creosote bushes on both sides. You'll enjoy views of mountains, including Superstition, Fish Lake, the Anza Borrego area, and the Coyote Mountains, providing panoramic scenery in multiple directions. At the turn to the northwest, the trail has disappeared after past storms, but you can still find the BLM posts to guide your way. In this section, the surface is bumpy with off-camber sections that demand attention.

Difficulty
The soft sand requires four wheel drive, and airing down is essential for maintaining traction. The wet sand on the east side creates unpredictable conditions and may be firmer or softer than expected. The relatively flat terrain with whoops is manageable. The main challenge is navigation at the northwest turn, where the trail has disappeared after storms, requiring you to follow BLM posts rather than visible tracks. The bumpy surface with off-camber sections in that area demands careful navigation and line choice.
