Trail Overview

This long beautiful stretch is surrounded by a beautiful pasture that has consumed once logging land. Beautiful open skies and gently sloping hills are interrupted by a fairy tail-like tree cover housing a bridge that crosses a small waterway. Water is inaccessible without rope due to steep sides. The bridge is large and sturdy enough for a logging truck. Being just off the freeway the dense wood cover near the road makes this a great place to find camp. The road is mildly rocky but would easily be accessed in the summer months with two-wheel drive.

Difficulty

Although this road is fairly easy, it as been less and less maintained over the years. Small pot holes and silty ground may make this more challenging in the winter months. Some parts of the road go down to 1 car wide but are few and far between.

We started on Forest RD 71 and made our way through to this trail towards highway 508 to wrap up our route. Many trails and look outs we came across. We found a tiny bit of snow that was nearly melted. Great views along the way, we found a few muddy puddles where we got our gladiator nice and dirty. Some waterfalls as well. Lots of active logging and spotty signal so download maps ahead of time. We couldn't find access to the river for lunch but fun day over all.

Access Description

Just off State Road 508, a road named N Fk Tilton will be on the northmost east side of the street.
