Trail Overview

Trails differ in skill level from blue and green to black and double black diamond. Very friendly for beginners/stock enthusiasts after their first badge. The double black diamond look to be a bit rough. I personally did not try them, as I am not built for them. The views, wildlife, and signs of mining are seen almost everywhere.

Not great for Jeeps or full size 4x4. Not a fan of this trail. In my opinion, it’s like it was really created for ATV, dirt bike, and SxS use, then opened up to Jeeps to draw in riders and revenue. The trails are narrow, and often shelved in this hilly WV forest land, few bypass and right of way spots. The concept is interesting, but not a place for Jeeps or full size 4x4s or even large buggies. Expensive Annual pass and safety gear are Required for access, which would be fine if it were fun for Jeeps. It’s just not. Yes i’m a cry baby, but hope this honesty helps someone pick a better experience for their time and money and better suited for Jeeps.

Access Description

The main trailhead is just a couple of miles outside of Logan WV. There are also 2 other access points, one on the west side of the system that will lead you to the boreholes, and the other from the south West of the system that brings you out to Logan. This is a must-do as the switchbacks at dusk are really cool. Keep your eyes out for bears.
