CR 25/2 - Beury Mountain Road

Western end is narrow at spots, expect some pinstripes. The eastern side is well maintained gravel, came across many other people so watch your speed around blind turns.

No access to the old firewater tower, the branch road to the cemetery is more difficult with a couple tight spots and a steep grade

well-maintained service road in the New River Gorge National Park. we went up the mountain from Thurmond — a cool little river town. the initial ascent is a good bit steep and single jeep wide for a mile or so. some nice river views and a steep embankment. the road has no obstacles but there is a pucker factor with the single track and dropoff. after the climb it’s just a nice gravel road. the Mann Mountain lookout tower is not actually on the Beury Mountain road. you need to go left on Chestnut Knob road to then hook back left to go up the Mann Mountain Tower Road to get to it — we missed that.. not sure if you can access the tower. a nice ride near the New River Gorge Bridge!
