Trail Overview
This easy dirt/gravel road is an excellent entry point from Highway 123 to the Piney Creeks WMA. Entering from Highway 123, it curves and undulates until you can get a clear roadside view of Little Piney Creek. Be mindful of property ownership, as this trail enters and exits the WMA multiple times, and not all creek access points are public. Several scenic rock bluffs are also visible from the road. Next, the road travels through a beautiful farm and then begins curving up deeper into the WMA. There are a total of 9 low water crossings (paved) that shouldn't exceed 6 inches deep during normal conditions. The road is mostly two vehicles wide; however, in some spots (like the low water bridges), it becomes one vehicle wide. This road is an excellent gateway to many trails in the area. There is a campsite found on the south side just after the first low water crossing.
