FS 2081

Trail Overview

FS 2081 navigates from its intersection with Old Highway 64 FS 2308, and travels to its intersection with Jack Pine Road FS 2301. This trail is a tight two-track trail made up of mostly dirt. There are a few areas along the way that allow for vehicles to pull over and pass. A good portion of this part of the Nicolet National Forest has been recently logged off, which means that small trees and shrubs dominate the surrounding landscape. Certain portions of the trail will make way into more mature areas within the forest. The terrain throughout the entire trail is mostly dirt, with some small sections of sand or loose rock. There are also a few low spots throughout the trail that remain wet even when the surrounding areas are dry. Cell service in this area is acceptable for the most part; however, downloaded maps are never a bad idea since the towers in this area can become crowded from summer tourists, leading to slow service.

Difficulty

This trail is simple to navigate for all vehicle types as well as all levels of drivers. The trail's largest obstacle is a couple of small mud holes/ soft spots located roughly 1 mile in from the northern start point. With a good tire, these can be crossed in 2WD. Small trees and plants overhang the trail, so small scratches can be expected in the summer months as plants green up. This trail is unmaintained for the most part, so seeing a tree down or debris on the trail could be expected after severe weather.
