Trail Overview
This trail is an easy, well-maintained gravel road that any vehicle should be able to travel, which leads to the campground and boat ramp at Wilson Reservoir. There are 24 camp sites with picnic tables and fire rings. Some of the spaces are bigger than others, but all can accommodate car and tent camping, with the majority big enough for RV/Travel Trailer pull-through. There is no electric hookup, but water and a black tank dump station are available. Camping is $10 per day, and the Day Use Fee is $5. The reservoir is known for irrigation, boating, and fishing, and is known for Rainbow and German Brown Trout. Ice fishing is also popular, but the roads are unmaintained in the winter months. The reservoir itself is approximately 1.25 square miles in surface area with a max depth of 30 feet. There are vault restrooms throughout the campground. There are panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges, with the closest being the Bull Run Range. Cellphone service was weak, but enough to send a message or place a call.
