Trail Overview

Non-Resident OHV permits apply to ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes. Plated street-legal vehicles typically do not need one on legal motorized routes. This route is a scenic desert drive that rewards travelers with excellent views of the surrounding rock formations and open landscape. As you travel, the terrain is lined with colorful stone outcrops, rolling desert features, and broad views that make the route enjoyable even without major obstacles. One of the most memorable sights is a large boulder perched high on the side of a mountain in the distance, appearing as if it is the last massive rock still clinging to the slope. The trail surface is covered with smaller loose rocks that create a rougher ride than a smooth dirt road, but nothing especially severe. There are also several washout sections along the route, though they are milder than many others found in the surrounding area. Overall, this is a great route for those looking for easy exploration, interesting scenery, and unique geological features without heavy technical challenges.
