My first time hunting Wyoming was unforgettable. I burned my hard-earned points on a general tag, determined to find a mature 6-point bull and experience the country I’d been dreaming about for years.

From the moment we arrived, the mountains were alive: bulls were still bugling, wolves howled, and we crossed paths with grizzlies. Each day brought wild encounters, culminating in finding the kind of bull I’d been hoping for. The combination of elk rut energy, big-country solitude, and the raw wildness of Wyoming made it one of the coolest hunts I’ve ever done. – Dylan Dowson
