Trail Overview
Trail 18 starts at the mud pits with an easy segment before transitioning into an intermediate descent marked by loose rock, ruts, and loamy soil. As it descends, it parallels a ravine, includes a couple of small rocky stream crossings, and winds tightly through the trees. The trail surface becomes increasingly rocky, with large flat loose rocks, cobble, and a few boulders requiring careful line choice. The route weaves in and out of the creek, with a longer creek crossing near the southern end. Two-way travel is permitted from the intersection with Trail 19 down to the Crossover Section of Trail 18; however, the Crossover Section itself is one-way northbound only, so Trail 17 must be used to exit the area.
