McGowen Mountain

Trail Overview

This out-and-back trail is mostly gravel with some dirt mixed in at times. With the recent snow and ice was a beautiful drive. There are good views of the surrounding mountains and the windmills. Very relaxed ride which works well for those who want to take it easy, enjoy the view, and hit the hiking/camping areas. You can find the Moore Run Trail head in the middle, and the Yellow Creek Trail head is at the end. Best for those who want to add some hiking to their day or trip! Good for a family day trip or mix it up with camping, etc.

Difficulty

Very easy trail, not much in the way of obstacles, best used as a path to hiking/bike trails and camping areas. The views are nice in the winter for sure.
