Trail Overview
IB 73 parallels a scenic, mossy ravine along the forest floor with lush vegetation and a small stream. The route begins on a moderately easy path with some embedded rock surfaces. You'll come up to a giant rock slab with a one-foot ledge at the bottom--off camber and often slick--before dropping directly into the narrow ravine. From there, the trail runs inside the ravine with big rock slabs and scattered boulders. After passing the advanced trail IB 92, the route climbs out into a rutted, off-camber path on the side of the ravine. The west end of the trail still has some deep ruts, but fewer rock obstacles.
