Trail Overview
Trail 84 is a highly technical trail intended for skilled riders only, featuring a series of challenging rock shelves that riders will ascend when traveling north to south. Starting from Trail 54, the trail begins with a steep climb that includes several boulders, ruts, and small shelves. This leads into a tight switchback, which then brings riders into the main technical feature--a series of rock shelves, some up to three feet tall, which can be approached straight-on. Following the shelves, riders will navigate a root band situated between a tight tree gap. The trail then ascends a steep hill toward Trail 55, where ruts and loose decomposed dirt slough off the surface. Riding in the opposite direction (south to north) presents a sizable drop-off. This trail is one of the most difficult in the Indian Ridge system and is considered "Extreme" by the trail system.
