Trail Overview
BM 197 is a 0.5-mile more advanced singletrack in the Buffalo Mountain Trail System, starting at the intersection with BM 186 on its south end. This narrow ridgeline route offers a true singletrack experience with overgrown vegetation and low-hanging logs requiring ducking. The trail features slick, loamy soil, narrow side-hilling, and embedded rock ledges creating 1-2 foot drop-offs. A steep technical descent with embedded boulders on the north end leads to the intersection with BM 48, with loose conditions and limited traction when wet. Best suited for experienced dirt bike riders seeking technical terrain.
