From its south end, BM 16 begins as a wide, smooth, and easy path with room for two-way travel, making for a mellow start. As it continues, the trail narrows slightly and introduces more loose rock and steeper grades, adding a mild challenge before transitioning into BM 17. It serves as a short connector between the Buffalo Mountain and Devil Anse trail systems.
