Trail Overview

Trail 2101 is a blue trail located within the Potomac River Riding Area of Wolf Den Run State Park. The Potomac River is the southernmost of the three riding areas at Wolf Den Run. Potomac River has a good mix of green and blue, and black trails. It also has a slag pile playground. There are also a few narrow-width trails specifically just for SxS, ATV, and motorcycles to choose from.

Difficulty

Trail 2101 is primarily an ungraded dirt road. It is a narrow, rocky, and mildly rutted ride in the summer months; however, during times of heavy rain, snow, and ice, the road will become heavily rutted and harder to travel on. There could be areas of heavy mud and standing water. There are sections where the rocks are up to 18 inches high with a few ledges.

Access Description

Trail 2101 is the primary trail from the parking areas to the trails within the Potomac Riding Area. It is accessed on the east end at the start of the park at the intersection of Shallmar Road. Trails 2103, 2101 Connector, 2104, 2105, 2201, 2302, and the Coal Haul Road can all be accessed from Trail 2101.
