Trail Overview

This is a 1.4 mile long very curvy ATV trail. The south end starts at a patch of blackberries before going across a wooden bridge. It's a wide trail that tightly winds through thick cedar trees, with small rocks and roots in the trail. The trail is lined with ferns in a dense jungle, with one section where there is a tall wall of leafy bushes on both sides of you. The trail has a couple more challenging sections, with bigger roots on an uphill climb, but there is an easy way around the roots. Although the trail is easy enough for beginner riders to navigate, it does have some very curvy sections, some tighter turns, and steeper sections. It's troughed on the climbs at times, but other sections have been filled in with cement pavers, so it's nice and flat and smooth in those sections. There are several marked intersections and road crossings, but it's overall very easy to follow. There are a couple of sections with a big boulder in the middle of the trail that ATVs will have to navigate. After 1.4 miles it ends on WV-05 road near the intersection with Jam ATV Trail, which you can take back to the staging area.

Difficulty

This is overall an easy ATV trail but has some features that make it slightly more challenging, such as bigger embedded boulders, steep curves and climbs, troughed climbs, and roots. It's a bit narrow in spots too which will make it harder for ATVs. It's overall navigable for most dirt bikers and ATVs.

Access Description

The Walker Valley ORV Area is a small trail system with about 20+ ATV and dirt bike trails. ATVs must be 48" or less. The staging area is a dirt parking lot with a U-turn for trailers that is accessed off of Walker Valley Road west of Big Lake. It's a popular trail system, great for families and beginner riders. It is well-signed throughout the system, as it is a bit of a maze of trails. It has a mix of easy and intermediate trails in a lush and dense forest typical to the Pacific Northwest. A Washington State Discover Pass is required for all vehicles. It is very busy on weekends.
