Trail Overview
This is a dirt-based forest road that gradually climbs around 1,000 feet in the Coilville National Forest. The trail gets narrower as you approach the top/end, and there are a couple of switchbacks with drop-offs. There are some muddy spots on the trail, and some minor ruts/wash, but any vehicle type should be able to travel this trail with no issues. Expect to encounter some downed trees along the way, and it would be a good idea to have a saw to clear the way. Close to the end, there is an area where the trees have been clear-cut, and you will have an expansive view of the surrounding ridges, making this a good spot to stop for lunch or a break. Camping is allowed along the trail, and you will see some pre-existing dispersed camping sites. There are no amenities on the trail, cell phone service is decent, and the closest supplies and services are approximately 20 minutes away in Kettle Falls, Washington, so you should travel with all needed supplies.
