Trail Overview
From the southwest start, FS 10200 climbs steeply on firm dirt with scattered loose rock, narrowing to a one-vehicle track through aspen. It crests Strawberry Peak at ~1.1 miles (10,304 feet), then follows a mostly wide, open ridgeline trending northeast, gradually stepping down toward ~9,450 feet at the end. Beyond the peak, the surface grows a touch rockier with embedded plates, light washboards, and intermittent ruts up to 8 inches deep. Pullouts are common along the ridge, and it rarely feels exposed. At 2.8 miles, a wire gate/fence must be opened and relatched--open range is active; leave gates as found. The roadway ends at 4.9 miles on a knob--there's no through-route beyond. Cell service is spotty, but stronger on high points.
