Trail Overview

Either end of this road appears to be an easy travel. Other than the single lane, unmaintained road, it looks pretty tame. However as the road approaches the large rock formations covered in pine trees. It starts to become rougher. If you are in a vehicle with off road suspension, a slow, but steady pace can be maintained. If you have a factory, stiff suspension you are in for a slow ride. The path through the rock required some minor hiking to scout out some choices in paths. There were also some small ledges that required some rocks to be piled up into a small ramp. The area has sage grouse, mule deer and pronghorn and the "right place, right time" to see any of them. As mentioned previously the area is covered in sage brush and the rock mountain is covered in pine trees.

Difficulty

Road is very rocky and slow go. There is one area that is more technical than the rest containing rocks up to 8" in diameter small ledges that may require some stacking of rocks to provide clearance through ledges.
