Trail Overview

This route starts out deceptively easy from either end, with relatively mild terrain that can make the trail seem like a simple backcountry connector. As you work deeper into the middle section, the character changes noticeably. Erosion has created rougher terrain with exposed rock, ledges, and steeper grades that require slower speeds and more attention from the driver. Depending on wheelbase and tire size, high clearance 4x4 vehicles on smaller than 35-inch tires may find the center section more challenging than expected. Good clearance and careful line choice become increasingly important through the rougher obstacles. Along the route, you will also pass an old fenced area that appears to have once stored equipment or materials, possibly connected to the historic Green River Launch Complex. The enclosure has been broken into over time, and whatever was once inside is no longer present. This trail offers a mix of changing terrain, local history, and scenic desert surroundings.

Difficulty

Both ends of the route are relatively easy, but the eroded middle section raises the overall difficulty with rock ledges, steeper grades, and rough terrain. Vehicle wheelbase, clearance, and tire size can make a noticeable difference, especially for stock rigs on smaller tires. Careful tire placement and low-speed control are important through the center obstacles.
