Trail Overview

Creekbed Upper runs between West Rim Boulevard and West Fenceline Road in Sand Hollow State Park. At the top, it's a sandy trail between sagebrush that's fun with whoops and banked corners. At the lower end of this trail, you get into a rocky "creekbed" which is just slightly more technical. The views from this trail are of Sand Hollow Reservoir and Hurricane and the snow-capped Trail, Signal, and Burger Peaks in the distance. During the winter months, it's common to see cattle in this part of Sand Hollow State Park. Our photos show cow tracks on the trail, so be aware. Sand Hollow State Park has a lot of trails covering every type of riding surface. There are sand dunes, slick rock formations, desert trails, and lots and lots of whoops. Be sure to check the ratings of any trail you're considering to make sure you don't end up on a trail that's above your abilities or beyond your ride's capabilities. Starting Feb 2023, Utah began enforcement of its new law, which requires an online education course for all off-roaders. The free course is available online. Google "Utah OHV Education Course," and the free test will pop up. It's an easy test that will only take 15-30 minutes, and it's required for all off-roaders, Jeeps, SXSs, dirt bikes, and ATVs. Kids under the age of 18 will have to take the Youth Education Test at the same site. After completing the test, print out the certificate to carry with you which shows you completed the course. We have taken it, and it's really no big deal. Good reminders about trail etiquette and trail preservation.

Difficulty

A sandy trail with a section that has rock obstacles, but nothing too technical.
