Trail Overview

This trail takes you on a short trip through the hills south of Chimney Rock to some old mine tailings. While there isn't much left of the mine, there is a good campsite at the tailings as well as decent views throughout the trail, and it is an easy and quick trip away from the main gravel road and is much quieter than much of the surrounding area. This trail is easy with no major obstacles and just a few smaller rocks and ruts to traverse as you follow the trail. This trail is open year-round and has no seasonal closures, but may be impassable depending on how much snow has recently fallen.
