Trail Overview
Big Spring/South Big Flat starts off as a compacted dirt road cutting through an open meadow lined with cedar trees. The first couple of miles are somewhat graded and easygoing, skirting private land boundaries before narrowing into a more rugged, winding path through dense cedar forest. Beyond the private land, the adventure ramps up. The trail dips in and out of a scenic canyon, climbing and descending a series of small hills with a mix of rocky terrain, deeper ruts, and fun technical sections. While not overly extreme, it offers just enough challenge to keep things interesting. Along the way, enjoy wide views of distant mesas and the high desert landscape.
