Trail Overview

Located in the Sam Houston National Forest, this loop is a 19-mile, 50-inch and under, multi-use trail for ATV, dirt bike, horses, and hikers. A Texas OHV permit sticker is required and can be ordered from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website, or you can find a list of businesses that sell it on the website as well. There are two staging areas on the west side of the lake that can accommodate full-size trucks/trailers and also have restrooms. This easy loop can be traveled in either direction and has other side trails to explore. There is camping allowed at the Kelly Pond staging area and nearby Stubble Field. Helments are required. No side-by-sides. Call the Sam Houston National Forest Ranger Station at (936) 344-6205 to check for trail closures.

This dirt bike and ATV trail offers a fun, easy loop that can become dusty depending on conditions. Fallen trees and damaged bridges may be encountered along the way. The route features numerous whoops, adding to the ride's character.

Access Description

FM 1375 will get you access to all of the Sam Houston National Forest west of Interstate 45. This loop can be accessed by either staging area found along Stubble Field Lake Road.
