Trail Overview

This trail requires 4WD, High Clearance, and is non-maintained. This road is a through road with an off-camber hill climb to the tanks. There is a section of deep wash running down the road with a crude bypass cut past this part. Articulation will carry most past this part. The two-track is narrow, expect plenty of pinstripes, and pay attention to tire placement as sidewall damage is imminent. Old steel water lines jut out in small washes, reminding visitors of life before on the Ranch.

Difficulty

As this road only has two slightly technical parts, the brush will wash most away. The centerline wash can lead to multiple tire lift scenarios with nothing to winch to. And the loose rock, off camber climb to the tanks could have a passenger questioning why we must see them. This road is not maintained.

History

This road was constructed during the installation of the two large water tanks that gravity-fed water to the lower valley. Pipe can be seen under the rolled edge of the road for most of the ride.
