Trail Overview

This trail is a well maintained road that is mostly 1 car width wide and has several spots to turn into if you encounter another vehicle. The trail winds through Rich Mountain via switch backs. The trail takes you up and over overlooks for very nice views and places to stop and picnic. I did encounter some, but very few ruts in the trail. At the end of the trail, you will find a four-way split. I took several routes at one point, and they all take you on a more advanced trail. A side by side would flourish here at this point but prior to this point, it is a very easy beginner trail.

A little rutted out at the top, but really not much need for 4 wheel drive on the main route. I did start to go down 190E and got to a section that looked like it may have gotten a little more difficult and turned around since I didn't have another vehicle in the group. Easy ride overall.

Overall dry at the time with known, normal spots which hold shallow pools of water. NOTE: Several established side trails are closed and gates locked. NOTE: There are new cut trails near the end of the main trail to the left and right. However, both trails are very narrow and not wide enough for Jeeps/mid-sized vehicles. Also, the trail to the left is reported to cut through private property, and said to be posted as private property.

Access Description

From Bumpus Cove Road you will see a forestry road to the left marked 190.
