Trail Overview

This route will take you from the higher elevations back towards Hartford. It generally a mild road, but a few sections include ruts and mud holes that might be more challenging during rainy weather. Be on the lookout for wildlife as you travel this road. Bear are common in the area and it's great grouse habitat as well. A few campsites are scattered along the length of Brown Gap Rd. and a few could accommodate small groups. Be careful at the sites near creek since they can rise quickly due to the steep terrain that surrounds the area. Cell service is practically nonexistent so download your maps beforehand.

Difficulty

Unless you traveled this route after a lot of rain you shouldn't have any issues in the few rutted and muddy sections.
