Trail Overview
Mill Run Road is a very scenic Pennsylvania state forest road. It is easy to travel and features more elevation change than a lot of the forest road network in this part of Sproul State Forest as it transitions from the river valley through a hollow up to the plateau north of the river. This means a diversity of terrain that offers a different experience. During the winter, it is also a joint-use snowmobile trail, so be aware of that when snow is on the ground. The road network in this part of the forest is very scenic, with lots of opportunities to pull off and picnic or relax. As with a lot of Sproul State Forest, this is a remote area with spotty cell service and limited opportunities to provision. The closest gas, food, etc., is in Renovo. Plan accordingly. The road offers access to several hiking trails. There were many newly downed trees in the south end, soexpect the potential for trees across the road at that end after a storm.

Difficulty
Well-maintained gravel state forest road. Any street-legal vehicle should be able to access it during spring, summer, or fall. At the north end, some runoff follows the road and can lead to washouts after significant snow melt or rain.
