Trail Overview
This route starts at Junkyard Town (a town owned by an entire family and appears to be an open-air private junkyard). The path winds through the countryside, crossing multiple steel bridges over Meigs Creek, and eventually turns left, crossing a multitude of low-water concrete bridges that will be underwater as Onion Creek rises with the rainfall; several of these bridges can be bypassed if folks want to try a creek crossing and places to cool off along the way. This winds north through Mcmannus Griggs Rd to the blacktop road just north of Hackney: beautiful countryside and some picture-perfect places to stop. Watch for logging operations on the northernmost portion of this road.
